How about some weight estimates on the lightest paint job on my SA-100. Obviously this would be after a complete recover.

A Pitts, Smith Mini or EAA bipe should be similar.

I did find some references on the Biplane Forum stating the 3.7 fabric would use the least paint.

I would think silver with minimum trim would be the lightest color combo. I know, not the prettiest choice but a 1930's style could look nice.

I am determined to hit the 740 pounds empty weight stated on the plans. I've already stripped over 160 pounds off of the old girl. Empty weight at time of original flight was 940 pounds.

Thanks

Steve,
Okay, I have no clue as to what the minimum paint weight would be on your SA100. But I just have to say I'm astounded at a 160 lb Jenny Craig diet!

Man, that's cutting the fat.

I agree on a simple silver with a few accent lines would be classic.

Hmmm...maybe I need to clarify which "old girl"!
