Paul several people have been having problems and i am not sure if they have been remedied, also i think that Marl is the new go to guy for this board as Cam moved and was trying to sell his Acroduster project?.
My friend Mike Creech tried to change his avatar and was promptly kicked off this board and all of his post were also gone? he is back on but no longer has any history, and i do not think he beats dogs or his wife in his off hours.

But the these are computers and when microsoft is involved especially with vista things can easily jump the tracks. Dave

Speaking of... Paul, I received your PM and sent you a reply. Let me know (here) if you do not get it.

I know how Mike Creech feels... the same thing happened to me a few years back on this site. I think I was updating my profile address at the time.

That's unfortunate, not only for the inconvenience, but also for the good information that may be lost with those posts. I wonder if there's a way to back up each member's posts for easy recovery? Seems that would be the best approach since the problem occurs one member at a time.

On Mon May 18 12:47 , Somer Campbell sent:If they are not in your messages, then it probably dumped them. Sorry.

Guys----

I've not had any problem with PM-s.

This is the fist I've heard of the problems changing avatars, etc....

I'm gonna push this thread on up to Tom at ACS to get his take on it.

BTW---Cam is still around---just not as active as he once was---we are both moderators----but not admin.--for the we have to go up the chain.. Very Happy

Try and suggest Construction Photos Categories and have it stickied near the top, under this category you could break it into sub categories. This should all be supported by even the earliest free versions of phpBB. The rest the group can handle normally to fill it all in...
Thanks for helping...Did you see that SD2 with the Kinner?

Yep---the Too with the Kinner looks really cool to me. Has a PT-22 look about it.

I don't think that there is a problem with the PMs. When you send a PM it is placed in your Outbox until the person that you sent it to reads it. When they read it, the message get's moved to your Sentbox.

If you need to, you can edit a message in your Outbox before the recepient reads it and they will then recieve your edits.

Cam, Marl,

Are the dumped posting comments true. Have some member's comments been lost forever as they change e-mail addresses, avatars, etc? I assumed the archives would be there forever. If not, how can we make a backup for our own purposes?

Frank---from what I've been told----if a member's account is deleted or lost for some reason---any messages that they have posted CAN be lost---and are not recoverable.

I don't know of a way to back-up files---except for the admin. taking care of it.

Also---we have a couple of folks that seem to have repeated problems with their account---don't know if it is their fault, or the forums's fault..... Scott Murphy in Tampa is one---he's having problems signing in again--has made no changes that I'm aware of----it's almost like the forum doesn't like him!! Wink
