For those of you who may be worried about October weather, I took the time to research some historical weather records for the last ten years... here's what I found (based on October 17, 18, & 19, for the years 1998-2007):

Temperatures AVERAGED out at 54 degrees for the nightly low and 82 degrees for the daily high. More specifically, daytime highs ranged from 65 to 91 and the nighttime lows ranged from 47 to 50.

Visibility averaged 8 miles (ranged from 4 miles to 10 miles), but it was mostly the result of a low inversion layer, so you can fly in above the haze.

Wind averaged 6 mph, with muximum sustained speed of 12 mph. Three days (out of thirty) had max recorded gusts over 20 mph, but that was only during the peak wind period. Generally, winds this time of year are very manageable.

Rainy season... not a chance! I could only find one day (out of thirty) that had any rain, and it was minimal (typical of Southern California).
