Hello All,
Just like to intrduce my ride SA750 aka. Power Play and myself aka. Thomas Shpakow to forum. I think I have spoke with a few of you already, possibly @ KOSH. or on the phone. Is there anyone of you planning KOSH 08? I'll be there parked @ IAC Headquarter building. Food for thought. Has anyone heard or experimented with velcro strip in 2" to 3" in front of the lenght of the alieron to re-attach the air flow to improve the roll rate? I did go up and fly with 8" of yarn on the top of the left lower wing and bottom of the left top wing. Under full and partial alieron deflection there is dead air flow in that area. Just curious.

More Performance is GOOD!

Welcome to the Board!

Haven't seen the velcro idea---but I think I have seen a Swick-T with that saw-tooth "vortilon tape" on it in a similar place---wondered what it was for--but no one around to ask.

Went to your site----very cool ignition system---will prolly be calling on you soon for more info. Have an O-320 160hp Too that I'm rebuilding. May be interested in trying your system.

Tom Yes Both my son Dan and I are planning to attend Oshkosh 2008. I am not very knowledgeable about the improvements to the ailerons on the SA 750, however they worked quite well as designed circa 1970s. There has been much improvement in this area over the last 30 yrs. The rubber wedge and gap seal on the elevator come to mind, as for the ailerons my suggestion would be to talk with those in the I A C who have experimented with this and other aileron roll improvements and to incorporate things that are known to work, furthermore it has been my experience that what you think might be the perfect solution turns out to be quite the opposite. A friend of mine some years ago tried to improve the aileron roll on his lower ailerons only Starduster Too by putting gap seals on the upper surface of the ailerons, the results were an airplane that had even less roll control. My point is make sure that what you try is some thing that will work for your type of aileron. Dave

Thomas,
I met you at OSH a couple years ago and admired your plane.
This year I am flying a red Funk to OSH for Air-Tech.

I used MSD ignition products on my muscle and drag cars in the '80's.
I would love to buy one of your ignition systems to install on N1300S.

Hey Tom,

I met you a year or so ago at an EAA301 meeting. I am building a SA750. Good to see you on the forums.
