I looked at the SDII project listed in trade-a-plane. It would be a nice project for someone looking for a little fabrication and recover project.
This plane, N82GF, was a completed and flying aircr ...

Anthony,
Yes, the Cessna gear is heavy but makes a nice ride while taxiing but you need that -540 to get it off the ground. It looks like the Cessna 170 gear in N76GS, which I have several hours in. ...

Mike,
I like your idea of extending the fuselage and not the engine mount.
Gear installation looks similar to N3LD which did fail after running out of gas and landing in a corn field, I have the sal ...

Your engine probably came off of a Cherokee 6 and a prop from the same plane would work well. If you are going to do serious aerobatics then an aerobatic prop from a Pitts S2B with associated governo ...

All the certified installations I checked have at least 3/16" tubing for the manifold pressure line. 1/8" should work but I think that eventually it would get clogged as the hole is about 1/16".

In my situation I like to use primer to cover the metal on restorations that require pre-blasting to remove/expose corrosion/cracks. Then use a scotch-brite disk on an air angle grinder to clean the ...

The last fuselage I had powdercoated (J-3 in July) was blasted with limestone sand. It was less aggressive than other media, lots cheaper than soda.
We chemically stripped old paint, glue and fabr ...

Scratches are fine as long as you are not wanting to polish the panels. We prepare the surface for paint by sanding with Scotchbrite and an acid solution followed by Alodine.
